AKG Mic Test

Post by Gary Peters »

I've come upon an AKG C414 mic and am trying some different settings, positionings etc...Consequently I'm building up a collection of tiny toons such as the following:

I'm tempted to make a Tiny Toons album where every track is under 2 minutes. That'll be a blessing I hear some of you say...maybe make them even more extra tiny!!

More to follow no doubt.

One of my favourite harmonies...that I, no doubt, over use. Who cares?

As for the album, I'll be in touch...might even do you a 10% discount!!

Great playing and great sound! I don't own any 414s but a while back AKG realised that most folks only ever use them in cardioid, so they did a single-capsule version, the C214 of which I have several. I thoroughly recommend them for pretty much anything.

Thanks Ian, and thanks for the tip. I'll definitely look into a C214 when my son's university asks for this C414 back. Maybe they'll forget he's got it!!

All my 214s came used from eBay at an average of around £170 - great value!
