D6th Chromatic Samples

Post by b0b »

In another topic, I described a copedent called D6th Chromatic. I've put the copedent on a Desert Rose S-10 and recorded a few songs to demonstrate it.

First up, playing along to Bernie Leadon B-Bender in a 70s hit:

Then, copying Dan Dougmore's licks in a modern country tune:

My friends Allegra and Sam of Solid Air live-streamed a show on Facebook. I thought it would fun to play and got their permission to add a steel part:

Many years ago I wrote a jazz tune on E9th that translated well to the D6th:

The most recent is a spacey thing I wrote to highlight the harp-like feature of the tuning:

I'm happy to answer any questions about the recordings or the copedent, which is:

Here's one more, just recorded today. It's a medley of Westphalia Waltz and Gardenia Waltz, with accompaniment by Band-In-A-Box:

Interesting, b0b. Makes me wish I has a single neck with a bunch of pedals lying around.

Listening to Peaceful Eagles I really liked the timbre of the steel, seemed so much more mellow than E9th standard voicings.

Curious what pickup is in your Desert Rose?

Very enjoyable, thanks bOb. :)

Thanks, Mike. The pickup is a Telonics X10, through a Telonics volume pedal and a Strymon Iridium (Fender amp emulation).

I just noticed that I made a web page for these 5 songs, back in April:

I really like the way the "chromatic" strings and E9th A+B pedals enhance the D6th tuning. :)
