Susan Alcorn - tribute to Paul Motian + two more shows

Post by Susan Alcorn (deceased) »

I'll be playing a string of three gigs next weekend, so I thoughtI'd share them with you (though it is rare that a steel player shows up to one of my concerts, and rare for someone even to acknowledge these posts). That said . . .

Here's where I'll be playing:

Friday, March 18, 2022
2640
2640 St. Paul St.
Baltimore, MD 21218
Duet with Thollem McDonas (keys)

Saturday, Mach 19, 2022
Y Arts Center
115 E. Church St.
Frederick, MD 21701
7-9PM
Trio with Jeff Cosgrove (drums), Dave Ballou (trumpet)

Sunday, March 20, 2022
Union Pool
484 Union Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11211
3PM
Trio with Ryan Sawyer (drums), Patrick Holmes (clarinet)

If you can make it out, it would be nice to see you.

Hi Susan, wow, that sounds great. Paul Motian is probably my favorite drummer/musician these days. I just purchased his two books of compositions in hopes of playing some of them with friends.

I hope I can make it out next Sunday, I will certainly try!

Please let me know should you ever perform in RI or Mass.

James, I will let you know if ever make it up to New England.

Mike, my apologies; I wasn't very clear in my post. The Paul Motian tribute will only be the Saturday gig in Frederick, MD. The one at Union Pool will be an improv gig (though with some very good musicians).

It's certainly rare for me to go into the city but it could happen. In any case it is heartening to see you perfoming, and within a few hours drive at that. Thanks for posting, I wouldn't have known otherwise.

The sign on the door says 7pm tonight, not 3pm, is that right?

I wish! If you ever want to come back to Western MA, I'll help book the show. :)
