9th String Manipulation

Post by Dale Rottacker »

Might be an idea or two in here. The 9th string is involved throughout, except for the G6th Chord at the beginning.

There's a GOOD chance I didn't get all the Chord Names correct, but I am NOT much of a theorist. So sometimes I think I have an inkling of what something is, but that sure doesn't mean much. I'll let you good folks argue about what some of them are

Thanks Mark.

I don't think I actually did >E, but did do >4 and >5. And by that I was trying to show that you play the group of strings first and then >4 after that. I perhaps could've used a different symbol that would be less confusing. Maybe one of the reasons I'm not a fan of Tab  . But know that you can maybe see what I was trying to do, take a listen again, and try to hear that 4th or 5th string after you hear the group of strings.

Hope that helps Mark.

And thank you Larry, glad you liked it... this is really a great sounding guitar

Dale, you seem to squeeze the best tone out of your gear. I think it has something to do with the guy on the seat. Keep up the good work.

Larry, you're TOO kind and I'll take compliments like that all day. I really wish I knew how all that worked. I've always heard it's in the hands, but if I knew what it was about the hands, I might try to work on it. Thanks again. :) :) :)

9th string

Dale this is great their has been a lot of post about the 9 th string but as for as I know you’re the only one that’s given a chord to reference that’s goes with it I don’t read music and to get into theory as to know how to fram chords from notes I’m lost so the way you’re naming the chords is a big help thanks keep up the good work

How nice of you Paul, and after all those nice words, I would take some of those chords with a grain of salt. I'm not all that schooled in theory either, though I do know how chords are made. That said, I'm pretty sure some of these are off, and it's maybe not a good idea that for me to even say what I think the actual chord is, but perhaps should just stick to what TYPE of chord I THINK it is. i.e. 6th,7th.Maj7th,Dim etc.
