The Valley- Charlie Crockett

Post by Dana Blodgett »

Does any one have any tabs, especially the intro to “The Valley” by Charlie Crockett , that
they would like to share? Preferably key of C.
I believe intro is a 4-5-1 key of B or C I think. Actually any key is fine
Thanks

Charlie Crocketts The Valley -intro, My take

Post by Dick Sexton »

Hello Dana... I was hoping you would get a taker on this song but not yet I guess. I'll try, with a little back story.

The Valley intro, original key of "B"

(__)=Very fast chicken picking. /=Slide into it. ~=Sustain.

My story... Born in Brownsville 43. Grandparents farmed just outside Los Fresnos and owned some rental property in San Bonito. I ended up owning a home there, which I sold in 76 while I was in the Marine Corps. Still own part of the original farm. So when Charlie sings about the Valley and San Bonito, it's my life. Dusty roads, back of a Ford pick up, Brownsville Eagles Football, Charro Days and my second home till I left there, Matamoros Mexico. Cut my teeth on music at the Carousel Lounge down the street from where Freddy Fender got his start during that same time.
Like a do over, but that doesn't work. Hope this is some use to you and I hope it's close.

Thanks Dick ! I appreciate it I just stumbled on to Charlie Crocket recently and there’s some good steel in there.
Sounds like an interesting life, actually my old steel instructor played with Freddy at one time, he’s a member here too
I was born near Fresno Ca. I’ll check it out
Thanks again
