Oh no ... not another.
He provided a springboard for a very young Steve Winwood.
R.I.P. Spencer Davis.

Yes, Steve was only 14 years old when he joined the Spencer Davis Group. And what cool songs: "Gimmie Some Lovin'" and "I'm a Man".

So sorry to hear this. I was lucky enough to play with him a couple times... a true pioneer and a true gentleman.
Vaya con Dios, Spencer...

Sad to hear about Spencer Davis passing . Back in the 60's , I had a friend whose mom was Spencer Davis's cousin . So when he was touring , Spencer stopped in to visit . My buddy invited me over to meet him , and we all had a game of croquet in the back yard . So , I can say that I played with Spencer Davis . RIP Mr Davis

RIP, Spencer Davis. He brought the nice R&B and skiffle infuence into his group.
I've seen the SDG Mark 2 and Traffic perform on the same stage back in'68.
The Allman Brothers covered his "Don't Want You No More" a co-write with Eddie Hardin.
And he spoke good German.
