A Kansas City steel legend has passed on. Frankie Kay was a pioneering steel player/bandleader with a deep interest in jazz and western swing. On top of that, Frankie was an extraordinarily kind and gracious man. You can read more about him here:

So glad I got a chance to know him, albeit long distance. RIP Maestro. My condolences to his family and friends, of which he had many.
