So sad. I had the opportunity to meet him a few weeks ago whwn he was visiting my hometown Goettingen in Germany. His publisher over here (Gteidl Verlag) is planing a new book with photographs of Mr Cohen. We met at a friends kitchen for dinner and it was a real pleasure to talk to such a fine person. We even managed to do a short version of "Forked Deer".

I did a show with the "New Lost City Ramblers" at the Southwest Folk Festival in El Paso Texas during the early '60's. Sorry to hear this news about his death.

The New Lost City Ramblers explored and re-created the roots of today's country music. They played the same kind of music depicted in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou."

If the music they play with such authenticity had not existed, there would not have been a Grand Old Opry, or a Hank Williams or a George Jones.

Everybody who plays or just likes country music should get at least one of their CDs.
