Memorial To My 3rd Son, Bruce.

Post by C. E. Jackson »

48 years ago I lost my son, Bruce to an accident. He was riding his bicycle,
hit by a police car, and died 2 days later. He was the 3rd of my 5 sons and
2 weeks short of his 8th birthday.

This week I have been listening to recordings of one of my favorite old artists,
RED SOVINE, and one of his recordings was THE FUNERAL. I remembered
the recording I made several years ago and decided to post it.

THE FUNERAL

Sorry for your loss. Time doesn't heal all wounds...

Revelation 21:4 English Standard Version (ESV)
4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Loss of Third Son

Post by Roger Dillingham »

Mr. Jackson, I know we haven't met so I will dispense with trying to say anything in an attempt of consolation. In your particular situation I know there can be no real consolation until you are able to see your son again face to face. I have seen by your past posts that you are indeed a Christian Brother. I have firm convictions and I know you do as well that there will be a great reunion one day. Still, that promise doesn't totally take away the hurt that you must go through each day. Please know that I also am so sorry for your loss and the absence of one so dear to you. I feel that what Mr. Jim stated is very true; I also appreciate the scripture reference he gave which to Christians is a beacon of hope that transcends anything that our feeble minds could compose. May God bless you Sir and be with you in your time on this good earth. May God bless Mr. Jim as well; it's great to have Christian friends who understand that it's not about this life anyway, but a wonderful life that is to come! :) Roger

Jim and Roger, thanks for the kind words of encouragement from Christian brothers.
In teaching my boys about the Holy Bible and faith, I always taught them that the
Holy Bible was the Handbook of Life. Bruce always took his Bible when he went to
spend the night with his grandparents. He was a solid believer. We will meet again.

Godfrey, thanks for your condolences. It is probably
harder for parents to lose a child than to lose other
family members and friends.

Donna, this recording has always made me sad, especially after
the loss of my son. The pain is great, but knowing that we will
meet again eases the pain. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
