At least we have his records so his voice will always be with us.
I am very sad that he has gone.

I'm saddened. I played many a fun gig with Leon and he was always a joy to be with on the bandstand. Another of the legends has left us.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Like Herb Steiner, I to played many a fun gig with Leon. He was always a real "kick" to be with on stage. Rest in peace dear friend and go be with Our Precious Lord. You are a legend and will be missed.

I too join the list of many musicians that had the honor of working with Leon many times. His dedication to Western Swing Music was impeccable. Rest in Peace brother

Like others mentioned, Leon Rausch was a class act. I had the opportunity to play Steel Guitar backing him on some shows at The Grapevine Opry of Texas and at their Branson Missouri Starlite Theater during the early 1980s. He was really a great guy, wonderful singer and entertainer. We had a lot of fun and laughs. Leon Rausch was born near Billings, Missouri about 40 miles from where I live. As a person drives thru that small country town, they have a sign by the highway that honors him as a member of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys Band. RIP Leon Rausch we all love you and will miss you! Prayers for his wife, family and many friends.
