Mover and shaker, man of many talents and achievements, Harold Bradley with Parliament-Funkadelic's, Bootsy Collins, standing by "the man."
Harold was seminal in going to battle for musicians' royalty rights.
When Congress, notorious for giving themselves pay raises and extended vacation times, decided background musicians should not receive royalties for songs recorded and given air play, Harold lawyered up and went to Congress to prove them wrong!
Using the song Crazy recorded by Willie Nelson, Harold proved that the energy brought to a session by background musicians is what made the recording a hit by showing Congress that the particular demos of said songs prior to the final recording that produced the hit, (including Willie's own demo) did not have the same hit making energy and that the background musicians' performances on the final released for air-play tracks did add much input on said final tracks, and that the background session musicians do deserve the royalties for boosting the performance of the song enough to make it a hit.
