Sondra Wooley,owner and performer of Bement Country Opry died December 22 in Decatur Illinois. The funeral was held yesterday the 29th.
Sondra and her husband Larry operated the Bement Country Opry in Bement Illinois. Larry passed away a few years ago and Sondra due to poor health quit playing recently. A few of her band members carry on the opry by moving it a few miles north to Monticello Illinois and play music two Fridays a month.
Sondra was an accomplished guitar player and always had a pedal steel included in her band. She booked local talent in her shows as well as national. Traditional classic country music was a must on her shows.
