Before the 'Gone Home police' chime in, I would say that ANY friend of Jerry Reed Hubbard's is by all means a "friend of steel guitarists".
(I would almost even nominate Jerry Reed to the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame for featuring a then-little-known Paul Franklin so heavily in his tune 'Nervous Breakdown'!)

I recently saw his last film "The Last Movie Star" on one of the streaming channels. Very nice little movie, with Burt basically playing himself as an old actor who is being honored at a film festival for a lifetime achievement award. Nice moving film and a real chance for Burt to sum up his life.

Skip, thanks for the w.w. and the dixie dance kings, I bought that on DVD years ago, great time piece, with Don Williams. My copy was not real hi-fidelity, but such a great movie, I watch it once a year. Will look for the sho-bud store scene.
R.I.P. Burt, loved al, his stuff as well as his bud Dom Deloiuse, got to spend 3 hrs. with Dom at his house in Vermont about 20 years ago with my wife. He was the real deal, just as funny in real life as he was on screen, and from what I hear, Burt was the same.
My wife was watching 'the king of queens' the night before he passed and he was guesting on it, very sad, but a life well lived.
