Gordie Tapp
According to Wikipedia and CBS News, we have lost Gordie Tapp (of Hee Haw fame) at age 94. Lots of great steel guitar moments in that show.

After reading my initial post I realize that I sort-of made it sound like Gordie was a steel player, which he was not (that I know of).
So, for anyone who doesn't recognize the name... Gordie Tapp was an actor and one of the original creative minds of the show Hee Haw, which frequently featured live bands containing most of the best steel players of all time. Correct me if I'm wrong... but I believe that Gordie was one of only a few individuals to appear in every episode over the show's 23-year run.
There... Was that better?

I knew Gordie. He told me he played more characters on Hee Haw than anyone else. He was a fine gentleman and often used Steel Guitar in his performances. He was a fine singer but most known as a comedian and MC.
Gordie was also retired military, a Sergent Major I think. He could really belt out commands with a BIG booming voice.
RIP Cuzin Clem.
