Peaceful Travels, Phil Horton

Post by Mark van Allen »

With great sorrow I say goodbye for the time being to my dear, dear friend and musical compadre Phil Horton. Folks in the South Carolina area will remember him from bands in many genres like the Zassoff Boys, Mink, Nija, Western Flyer. Some years ago he moved to England where many more folks shared his humor and musicality in rock and top 40 bands there. He passed in South Carolina last week from complications of pancreatic cancer.

He was truly one of the best pals a road dog could have… I have so many wonderful memories of our years together. The photo is from some top 40 gig in the 80's, somewhere… I'll sure miss you, buddy.
