Long time Clute / Lake Jackson area steel player passed on Friday Mar. 25.
He was a mainstay for most of the local bands for 50 years. He was a good player and a better person. He retired some years back because he said there just wasn't any country music left. There is plenty where he is now. RIP my friend.

I had the pleasure of playing with Jack in a little band in clute i think it was ken wilsons band we played at the hurricane club in clute it was late 50s jack was a great musician before pedals got popular i played fiddle in that gig roy hayes little red hayes brother played bass we had fun

I've known Jack a very long time. I was once married to his oldest daughter.
I don't know if he was related to Brad or not. His family was from the Orange/ Port Arthur area in Texas. Wonderful guy. He and my Dad built some pedal guitars together. Roy Hayes, bass player (Big Red and Little Red Hayes brother) was my Dad's best friend. I've played a lot with all those guys.
