Nashville Area Notables Who Died in 2015: Buddy Emmons

Post by robert kramer »

From today's Nashville Tennessean. Buddy is sitting behind his Sho-Bud Permanent. This is the guitar he recorded Ernest Tubb's "Half a Mind" on - the first recording using split pedals: June 11, 1958.
I think as the years go by we will be still taking in all this man accomplished.

Indeed! In some genres there are people who so greatly advance the development, appreciation, understanding, and future of the genre that they become iconic to the genre itself. Buddy was that guy for the steel guitar. What a giant.
