Here's a couple of acetates Dave did in Phoenix probably 50 years ago:

I think "The Other Woman" is before Ray Price cut the song.
I assume he is the steeler on both tracks.

This was posted on facebook by Dave's son Matthew. I copied it because it says so much.
It's with great sadness that I say goodbye to my Father, David Perry Musgrave. After being unconscious for nearly 24 hours, he opened his eyes at 8:15 and stared into my mothers, Marcy Musgrave, eyes for 20 minutes. He then passed peacefully at 8:42. He was such a great father, husband, friend and musician. He will be missed by everyone he touched in his life. Good-bye Dad, I will see you again. I love you!

How very touching, a Son's love and admiration. Thank you Jack for posting this.
My prayers and condolences for Marci and all of their children. May God grant you all peace and comfort.

Not only was Dave a great steel player, but also a great friend!! He's been in our home many, many times and we've enjoyed all the jam sessions and wonderful fellowship together. We're praying for Marci and all the family! The old hymn is so fitting right now, "What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer!"

I first met Dave in the late sixties when he came to Blackie Taylor's music in Hawaiian Gardens, California for a Sho-Bud promo show along with Buddy Emmons and Shot Jackson... I'd never heard of him before that but after hearing him play he made me a fan as he was a top notch steeler... RIP Dave...JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

Dave
I knew Dave as a nice well mannered clean cut person that was a very good Steel guitar player who was easy to be around and I liked him very much. We would all be well advised to follow his pattern in life and we would be closer to the Lord when the time comes to meet our Maker . I pray that we will all be ready when our time comes. Lord bless Dave and keep him in Heaven. Love --Buck and Mitzi Grantham .

Dave
Ricky Bowen (not sure about spelling) had a great
show in Branson for two years. My wife and I saw
him both years. The second year he had Dave playing
steel in the band - my what a great show - really
featured him a lot. During intermission Dave was
very responsive and kind to anyone who wished to
speak with him.

as i mentioned in a recent thread about dave, back in the 70s he was promoting sho~buds around the country. dave was the first player i saw in person who really had the whole thing down. what a complete player he was back then. he played some beautiful stuff.
i imagine alot of sho~buds were sold due to dave's presentation.
very sorry to hear of his passing.
he really opened up my ears and mind to steel guitar.
