Printshop Presswriter
There is an old program I used called ,The Printshop Presswriter, but Windows 7, says it wont work on Windows 7, wont download from the CD.
Is it gone forever ?

The only details I can find are that the last version, 1.5, was released in 2008, making it compatible with Windows XP. If you can find that version you may be able to install it in XP (w/SP1) Compatibility Mode.

Probably so. I was the lead programmer on that program at Broderbund. It was designed for Windows 95. My wonderful old aunt still uses it to make her poetry books, but her computer is from that era, too.
I thought we did a pretty good job on PressWriter. I still have a copy on my bookshelf, but I'm a Mac guy now.

The pedal steel graphic that came with PressWriter was made by a graphic artist who photographed my Sierra Olympic. It is sad that computer programs go obsolete so quickly. That's one of the things that disillusioned me about the industry. It's been 6 years since I retired, and very little of the code I wrote over my 25 year software career is still in use.
There is a still little bit of my code in this forum, though. Maybe that's part of why I'm so reluctant to upgrade the forum software.
