Chuck Hayes steel guitarist with the WSMSS - Oklahoma region suffered a massive stroke late Thursday evening. Passing away Friday - his service will be:

So sad to hear. Here was a gentleman who promoted the art of Western Swing and encouraged those around him to keep the music alive! Prayers for family and friends.

Will be missed by so many. I considered Chuck one of best friends in the music world. He will always be in my memory, A great musician and friend to the world of Western Swing

I did have the opportunity to visit and play with Chuck at the NWWSMS show this year. I always enjoyed learning from Chuck. Besides being a great steel player he was a wealth of knowledge about Music.
He will be missed, not only by me, but so many others from the Western Swing Societies.
