Post by Mickey Adams »

I just heard Daron was found dead in his apartment....No foul play suspected yet...I first met and played with Daron in Atlanta at the Buckboard...I was in Mark Wills band at the time...Seemed like a good guy....RIP Daron...

Really? IN fact several reallys?

I hadn't heard about Daron, and I found this: http://lubbockonline.com/local-news/201 ... bjx4N6geFI

I also hadn't known you played in the Buckboard band! I followed Randy Sorrels in there after his wreck, and was there for a good long while with Mark and Daron, and many adventures… he was quite a character. I'm thinking of how he used to pick out a table with three or four lovelies and jump up on it while singing, knocking glasses over. One or two would be disturbed or disgusted and two would be forever smitten. Lots more stories inappropriate for this thread!

Someday you need to catch me up on your Buckboard adventures, Mickey. That was a rocking' gig.

Yes, my friend and former boss Daron Norwood has passed away. He was my first true Nashville gig, I moved to town to work for him!

We had a blast in 1995! First time I got to play the Opry, Music City Tonight, Club Dance, Wildhorse Saloon, etc...Plus traveling all over the country!!!

He was a wild card performer and just didnt get his big chance in the spotlight! Only two top 20's to show for all his hard work! Part of that, unfortunately was due to his "Wild Card-ness!"

His funeral was monday in his hometown of Tahoka, TX. I sure miss him!!!

I still havent heard an official cause of death, but he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure a few years ago... The words "heart attack" have been mentioned but no official word has been posted.

RIP my friend!
