Wade Stockton

Post by Tommy Detamore »

I am shocked and saddened to hear that my pal Wade Stockton was killed in a car wreck this past Sunday. Wade was a great fiddle player and a true friend of the steel guitar. We did an album together back in 2001 and had a great time together. Wade had a great sense of humor!

Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers....

I am also sorry to hear this. I played many gigs with Wade over the years when he lived in Fort Worth. He was a great player and always had a smile.

Been a long time since I visited here and was glad to see that there was mention of Wade's passing. Thank you, Tommy. Talk about a shock. Wade was larger than life and I couldn't believe it when I got the news. It may sound kind of disrespectful, but if he had to go, being found in the wreckage of his Corvette would be classic. I can't help but think Wade would have got a kick out of it. It was a privilege to have had a small part on the "Sons" album. RIP Wade, see you on the other side.
