Colin Cameron, RIP

Post by Skip Edwards »

It is with a heavy heart that I have to post the passing of my long-time pal, and wonderful bass player, Colin Cameron. He was 73.
Colin was a fixture here in LA since the 60's, and over the years had played with just about everyone under the SoCal sun. He was a really fun guy with a huge heart, and always left you feeling a little warmer for having spent some time with him.
He was also a Vietnam Veteran.

Here is a link to an LA Times article about him from 1995…

And here is one about his passing…

I will truly miss him.
Vaya con Dios, Amigo…

Amen to that. :( The ranks are thinning.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

A good guy with a massive resume. I was always glad to see Colin walk in a club, one of the few people to whom I would happily loan my bass to sit in.

Skip,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. At our age, they are "leaving the building" much too quickly. Prayers going up for his family and friends.

Skip said it all. That guy was literally part of the woodwork of the L.A. music scene since the 60s. If you play music in L.A. you'd run into him constantly. I'll miss hangin' with him.
