Nice couple with tight harmony. I still have one of their LPs. Sorry they've passed on.

They were really good.
Seems like they never did get their dues after all those years.
He could really belt out them honky tonk songs!!
It was a crying shame they both died penniless.

"Tone is in the hands. Unless your wife will let you buy a new amp. Then it's definitely in that amp."

We need to turn the TWANG up a little

It's not what you play through, it's what you play through it.

They say that tone is all in the fingers...I say it is all in your head :)

Some of the best pieces of life are the little pieces all added up..Ron

the value of friendship. Old friends shine like diamonds, you can always call them and - most important - you can't buy them.

Carl and Pearl Butler

I played steel for Carl and Pearl and found them to be true and genuine. Nothing fake or phony about them. They raised Appaloosas and owned a farm called, what else?, Crossover Acres. Pearl died, I believe from thyroid problems; Carl, from a heart attack. Pearl called me and wanted me to work for Little Jimmy Dickens but I did not want to move to Nashville.

One of those great performers I wouldn't have heard of if I wasn't reading the Forum. Afterwards I bought two albums from E-bay. One features Jeff Newman on steel. Amazing story Mr.Zornes!

They didn't have to write songs about house trailers because they lived in one.
