RIP Stephen Kerlinger (AKA Buck Dilly)

Post by Matt Berg »

Tim Carbone asked me to share this info. From his FB page:

RIP Stephen Kerlinger aka Buck Dilly. Andy Goessling and I played 4000 + shows with him with the Blue Sparks From Hell and a thousand more with Kings In Disguise. I am so sad. My life will simply not be the same and there will never be another like him. Most of what I know about playing the guitar I learned from you my friend. See you on the other side brother. Say hello to Tucker for me.

I don't know the details, Jim. What a shame after all he did to get himself together! I saw him and Tim with Andy and the late C. Tucker in the Blue Sparks From Hell many times. Had them up to WXPN in the middle of the night for a live broadcast. Also, he and Tim did the 2 guys playing 2 guitars, everyone else does this trick with one guitar! Of couse, this was announced as the Tim Buck Two!

Sorry to hear about Buck,

Got to meet him at a PSGA show a few years ago, was a nice guy.

My condolences to his family and friends.
Regards, Craig

I cried because I had no shoes, then I met a man who had no feet.

Today is tomorrow's Good ol' days

Ok, here's the details for what we're calling A Celebration of the Life of Buck Dilly(or Stephen Kerlinger if that's how you knew him). It will be at the Hillside Park Hall, 146 Lake iliff Rd, Andover Twp., NJ. On May 17 from 2-6 pm. We're planning a pot luck picnic and open stage so bring your best recipes, songs and readings to share.
