Henry Strzelecki, one of Nashville's most prolific bass players has passed away after being struck by a vehicle while out walking.
The accident happened on Dec. 22nd & he sustained serious injuries. He was placed in a coma in hospital & died on Dec. 30th. He was 75 years old.
In his substantial career Henry had recorded with just about every major artist,
including Elvis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan. He was also Chet Atkin's go-to Bass Player for 10 years.

So sad. I remember watching him on Hee Haw, and his smile. He always seemed to be having fun. RIP Mr. Henry. Condolences to Henry's family.

I have seen Henry play with Chet many times. What a great bass player and a super guy. This is a very tragic loss. My sympathy to all of Henry's family.

Any bass player, or would be bass player had to idolize this great musician. He was on so many hits and sessions for many of the major vocalist.
He will be missed by so many in Nashville and throughout the world.

So sad to hear. I have enjoyed his FaceBook page and his consarvitive views and had been considering linking as a FB friend. I too was not ready to lose a fine musician, whom I admired.

Henry was one of my favorite bassists. A cool guy and just an awesome player. So many hit records he played on. I'm very sorry to hear this sad news of his passing.

My deepest sympathies and prayers go out for Henry and his family.

I was present at that show as an audience member, it was a great band and performance.

Of course, I sat at stage right, where Buddy and Russ were. Henry was on stage left and Charlie was up front.

Henry was also in the Hee Haw staff band for most of the run. For the first three years of my run I was 'utility' man, subbing for whoever had sessions during the tapeings. I remember that I was on bass most of those three years....Henry was a very busy man, and we'll all miss him very much.

I remember Henry from his Europe tour with Jim Reeves, Bobby Bare, Chet Atkins and the Anita Kerr Singers.

Played and recorded with him back in the 70's, what a gentleman... All of the A-Team by then had nicknamed him "The South Pole". RIP Henry

What a loss....condolences to his family. I remember an L.P. I had of the "Nashville super pickers" at Austin City Limits, where he was referred to as "Our fearless leader" ... May he R.I.P.
