The news of Jan's passing hit me very hard and I could not do anything the whole day because of the pain I felt. I had just talked with him a few weeks back about playing for him again. Jan gave me my start in Nashville when I was just 13 years old on steel guitar. He was a very talented musician and truly one of the best in the business. He loved true country music and his timing was better than any metronome they make. He put his heart and soul into his music and loved every minute of it. I will miss his phone calls and hour or two long chats about music. Heaven has gained another angel for the band. Rest in peace my dear friend...Due to my college studies I likely won't be able to make the 6 and 1/2 hour trip to the visitation, but if there is ever anything you need or that I can do please let me know. I will remember Jan every time I play a country song now.
My condolences to the family and prayers for healing for Kathy...
