Sad to hear it. George is the man demonstrating how to turn a steel guitar over in the Winston/Keith book. He was a pioneer.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Prompted by your post, Jennifer, I did some Forum and some Google searching and came up with a bunch of stuff that made me smile.
I am sorry for your family's loss.
But I congratulate you and your family for being able to enjoy a strong legacy.

Thank you so much. It's tough on me. I am definitely trying to get one of his guitars. I want something that reminds me of him. He loved his steel guitars and I want my boys to see what he used to make and how great he was. Thank u so much

Sorry to hear this. When I met first Josh Dubin in Austin 1978 he was playing a GES steel. It sure sounded great to me. Later when doing dates in Pennsylvania I got to know some local steelers and George's name came up often. He was well admired in that neck of the woods for sure.

Jennifer it was sad to hear of your grandfather's passing my condolences to you and your family.

George was highly respected in the Steel Guitar community. He built some of the finest Steel Guitars in the world. The craftmanship was just incredible, it could be said he was a real perfectionest building Steel Guitars.

There are so many good things that could be said about George like he didn't take advantage of people when repairing or building steel guitars and one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

And Oh! the sense of humor he had and the stories he could tell lol!

I will definitley miss him he was a life long friend.
