Charley Brown, New River AZ. Passes

Post by Fred Justice »

My good friend Charley Brown went to be with the Lord this past Sunday, Sept. 7th.
Charley lost the battle with cancer as many do. Charley was 72 years old I believe.
Charley was a great man in my eyes, a big man and a very gentle man. Charley was a tough man in his young days.
Born and raised in Staten Island New York, he was a street cop, walking the streets with a billy club.

But Charley found the Lord in later years, and was a good Christian man.
Playing his "Justice" steel guitar regularly in church at the New River Bible Chapel, and has done so for the past 15 years.
Charley was a member of "The Pedal Steel Guitar Association" since the early 70's.
Charley is survived by his wife Diane Brown and at least two grown children I know of and grand children as well.
Please keep them all in your prayers, rest in peace Old friend.

I'm very sorry to hear this. Charley was one of my first students when I moved here in '79. He was a very nice man, always had a smile on his face. I loved to hear his "war stories" about when he was a cop in NYC. Rest in peace, Charley.

Hello Fred;
Thanks for the info.

My condolences to his family.
Charley always had time to stop & speak with me every time we saw each other.
I always enjoyed talking with him.
May he be at peace now.

"Tone is in the hands. Unless your wife will let you buy a new amp. Then it's definitely in that amp."

We need to turn the TWANG up a little

It's not what you play through, it's what you play through it.

They say that tone is all in the fingers...I say it is all in your head :)

Some of the best pieces of life are the little pieces all added up..Ron

the value of friendship. Old friends shine like diamonds, you can always call them and - most important - you can't buy them.

So sorry to hear this - He and Diane would always come by and see me at the show in Phoenix and came to many jam sessions. That photo and that smile is how I remember him.

He and Diane always had a smile and kind words to say to and about everyone.

R I P Charlie ----- we will miss you
