Bass Player David "Frenchy" Boucher Passes

Post by Jack Stoner »

Bass player Frenchy Boucher passed on Aug 4. He was living by himself and a friend stopped in to check on him and found him dead. No cause of death has been given.

Frenchy has been in the Inverness Florida area for a while. He is from Corinth NY and I know has worked a day job and picked music in the Baltimore area and several other areas of the country.

Frenchy worked in our band for a while and I've picked other jobs around the area with him.

Here is the obit in the local paper.
David W. Boucher, 73, of Floral City, Florida, died August 4, 2014. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto with services taking place at a later date at Densmore Funeral Home in Corinth, New York
Here is a picture about a year ago when he was working with us.

Frenchy

Yes, that's "Frenchy" always had a smile on his face and a friend to everyone he met.
It was always fun to play with him. He backed us up and the FSGC many times.
He will be missed by many people.

Yes, he was the Bass player at our first Florida Steel Guitar Club jam.

Also, Frenchy had a pedal steel. I'm not sure but I think he had a D-10 that he bought from Ernie Cawby.

Frenchie was one of my heros - along with Rudy Ward and Jim Ryle. They taught me how to play with a band. Great musicians all - not just players.

I wish I could be there but I can't. But, my thoughts will be there.
