iPad Antivirus

Post by Richard Sinkler »

I just bought an iPad from Best Buy. It included a free 6 month subscription to Kaspersky Anti-virus. When I try to download it from the iPad, it keeps telling me that Safari cannot download it. I was successful in downloading the installation file to my desktop. How do I get the anti-virus software onto my iPad?

I suspect that you have to download all apps from the Apple Store, not from the makers' websites. It is a software restriction policy enforced by the manufacturer of the device.

I've had an iPad for about two years. I've never had an anti-virus program installed.

But, Wiz is right, you must download any apps from the Apple App Store.

It's not in the app store from what I have seen. I have also read some sites that say AV is not necessary on the iPad. So, I think I am safe.

I've been using iPads since they were introduced. Knock on wood, I've never had a problem with any type of virus... Now my windows based laptop is a whole 'nother story.

Since most folks synch their iPads to a PC of some sort the AV software might have been intended for the PC anyway.

Or it might have just been a promotion...
