Here is a video recorded at our nursing facility Volunteer Banquet. Monty Montgomery is playing the blue Mullen steel and I am playing the Emmons. Thanks to the guys in the Denton Country Cowboy Church Band for letting me sit in with them.

Thanks Dave for the kind words. I will tell you before Monty started playing steel he played in Chet Atkins style picking competetions. This band plays hard shell country gospel at their church and are fun to play music with.

As most of the time I'm sitting on my ears. Could you give a few hints on how the melody is played. on which string and fret position do you start? The chords are clear to me. Thanks in advance.

Joachim, I play the song a little different than most steel players. Monty pretty well plays it like Jerry Bryd played it. My version is more like that of Curly Chalker even though I do not play near the level he played at. The song is in C chord and I play it on the C6th. I start on the 3rd fret and use the 6th string as the starting point.

Thanks Paul, I think that helped. Is the following F-chord played on the third fret using pedal five?

You are absolutely right. Find Curly Chalker playing that song and just watch how great he was.
