Pesky Banjo Trills

I have a problem with BIAB 2007. Yes, it's old, but I have so little time to explore what it can do there's no justification to buy a newer version.

I'm doing "Secret Love",and the style sheet I'm trying to use is Acoustic Ballad (ACBALLAD). BIAB insists on inserting fake banjo trills at the end of lines. They are annoying, and I don't want them. I don't think it is a feature of this style sheet as they seem to crop up on almost every one.

Try as I might, I can't find out how to suppress them. Any ideas please?

I loaded ACBALLAD in 2011 and muted piano and got rid of them. Norm

Trouble is they crop up in so many style sheets, Norm. They just nibble away at the edge of hearing, like the whine of a mosquito.

I have to mute unwanted sounds from a lot of styles to wind up with something that I like. It's not that hard to do and sounds less cluttered. Drums, bass, guitar or piano is plenty.

Well Andy, I know you da man for BIAB, my problem is *how* to mute the unwanted sound. It's not as if there's a radio button along the top of the screen where I can just click it to de-select that voice. I've gone into all sorts of menus looking for something that might be likely to lead me to the function I need, no luck. Also combed "Help" with various phrases and keywords, again, no luck. Any ideas please?

Right clic the button for the instrument you need to kill and select mute.
Alternative to remove things you don't like. Freeze that particular track then edit the notes in the individual bars. Hard work, yes but mother never said it was going to be an easy life

Yes Pete, but there is no banjo button to right-click! Unless the voicing is so bad that I can't recognise it for what it is.....

Thanks for sending me something to look at when I get home tonight. I'll give you some feedback.

Will,

It's likely the "string" or "guitar" midi instrument. Top left, right click on each instrument while it's playing and either mute or solo until you find the offensive instrument. Then you can try changing it to another midi instrument. I'm not at my computer but I'm guessing it's a nylon string guitar that's giving those banjo like sounds. Should be an easy fix. If his doesn't work, send me an email through the forum and I'll give you my email address and you can send me the song and I'll fix it for you and send it back to you.
