Hi Don!!! :D (Griffths)
It`s good to hear from from you! "Signal Chain???" Man, I dont even know what a "Signal Chain" is! I am from the old school of learning called, "Playing by Ear!" Ha-ha. It was the only way to play some "61" years ago. No one had the financial resources to afford the cost of lessons, nor the teachers, to teach us. Never the less, as time unfolded before us, some managed to be "self taught", by way of playing support in the afro-american pentecostal praise, and worship services. Never the less also as they begain to prosper, they began to develope what has become somewhat known as "Sacred Steel". It is a long story believe me. But, I`m honored, that you thought enough to inquire as though I could! :D I`m also glad to know that I had "Tone" :D ! I`ve taken notice that around here on this forum that "tone" is a pretty big thing to be able to play. I personally just play, and hope for the best, Ha-ha! Again thanks so much for your encouragement, it does mean a lot to me. Stay in touch my friend, and may our Lord continue to smile on you and your loved ones!

Hi ya Carl! :D (Lucky, Dr. Smooth, Kilmer)
As always, I am glad to hear from you. Especially when I have been provided an opportunity to express the genre` of music I play, (Or try to!) I say this because, I seem to be classified, as a "Sacred Steel" guitar player. And yes, to some degree, I am just that in a way. But, when I look at myself, and my music, I am more than that in reality. For a great while, I was presenting on You Tube, a group of videos of popular songs as well as contemporary tunes, right along with the Gospel music of Sacred Steel, and also what they call: "Jam Band" music, along with my own compositions. I guess some would say: "he plays only single string compositions", But I`ve always hoped, that as they listened to the compositions played, that they would remember, that as of July 18th. 1995, I became a physically challenged musician, (a double amputee above knee) who is presenting the music that he has played for sixty-one, (61) years and is a product of the african-pentecostal church environment, of which I am still a pastor, and I continue to serve faithfully.
The term "Sacred Steel," is a term that came into existance in around about: 1992 to 1996, with the wonderful book written by Bob Stone, entitled "Sacred Steel" "Inside An African American Steel Guitar Tradition by Robert L. Stone"(C) 2010. A wonderfully written book about a little known musical tradition. It was through his efforts, that the general public became aware of this music, that we had been playing, for some 70 plus years. But even now, as I approach my 71st. year of life, I am grateful, that I have not only been identified, and classified, as a "Sacred Steel Legend", but I am also grateful to be identified, and classified, as a "Steel Guitar Musician", who is able to play other forms of music including, but not limited to, one form of music compositions. So if anything that should be written about what kind of music I play, let them write: "Here is a muscian, that played music". "His instrument was a Steel Guitar!"
Thanks my dear friend, for providing the opportunity, to share the gift of knowledge, with what I see is the greatest forum in the world!!! May God continue to smile on you, and your loved ones.
Your friend...

I particularly liked this one. I look forward to being able to play it at home on my hi-fi system.8)

As Ronnie rightfully says, I'm on the loose in England and Wales at the moment. I had a pleasant visit with Ian Rae last week and will be playing with him again tomorrow. So far I haven't played with Basil due to conflicting schedules. I shall be flying back to California via Amsterdam over the weekend.

Hey Alan! :D (Brookes)
Welcome home old friend! I trust that all was enjoyable on your holiday excursion, and that you found all as you expected it to be. Well, while you were there, the musical journey continued with me here. In other words the beat goes on.(or went) which ever you choose   And as always, your support is always greatly appreciated. It is right on target when you say, to hear it on the hi-fi system because, it does make a difference in the quality of sound. I`m also very pleased when I you say "I particularly liked this one", because it is helping me, to try that much harder to improve on the quality of sound that I`m trying to produce. I sincerely mean that my friend. Well, I look forward to you returning safely, to the waiting loved ones of your family. Be safe ole friend. :D
Ron
PS: Thanks for the Post, "Lichfield Cathedral" is indeed very, very, beautiful.
