Sacred Steel
Hey Del Ray,
I'm enjoying the brothers and sisters tearing it up on the sacred steel channel.
Love "Nikki D!" She sure is able to squeeze every last bit of tone out of those notes on the old ShoBud. Maybe the facial expressions help with that. Hey, I think you should do a video and call it the "The Best of Nikki D!" Include the clip where she's playing with Calvin at the fair...that was awesome (all the musicians were). Just an idea. Also, kudos go out to Fran too.
Could you comment on what some of these people are using as far as equipment? Looks like they are using Fender or Peavey amps. What about effects? Wahs? I notice many seem to just wear two picks and ride a couple of strings for the most part. Thanks for a close-up shot of Nikki D's hands...you can learn a lot just from watching.
Keep up the good work. It's always good to hear a new and different approach to this great instrument...gives me some new ideas for phrasing, etc.
Later,
Don

Hello Don,
Great observation, during our annual steel shows we provide a back line of amps, drums, PA equipment etc. to make things easy for those traveling long distances. It also helps for recording purposes. Nikki is an awesome talent and she plays many other instruments.Wish you could make it up this way to one of these awesome events.
