Great writer/singer with the greatest steel player. Great C6 solo on "San Anton-ee-o"

That was pretty damn wicked. I would not have come across that if you hadn't posted it. Thanks!

I had this album back in the day. It inspired me to play C6th on rock tunes. And so to this day I still do.

Nice E9 on the choruses behind the vocal too, with a nice little tip of the hat to Lloyd Green at 1:24 and 2:48, with a classic 70s Lloyd Green octave lick.

I believe there are some other cuts with a little Buddy Emmons steel on this album:

and a couple more that aren't on YouTube.

Troys Seals first album "Presenting Troy Seals" is also great, with Weldon Myrick all over it. I don't think either of these albums is available on CD or MP3, but well worth buying if you find them used.

These tracks sound very much like they were recorded at Muscle Shoals. Do you know where the album was made, Peter?

Both Troy Seals albums were done in Nashville. This first one was produced by David Briggs, released in '73 in , the second by Billy Sherrill released in '76. There are some great funky players in Nashville. Of course some of them came there from Memphis and Muscle Shoals.
