Love this song, I've been working on it myself lately. I always enjoy visiting with Rolene when in Branson. A great Lady. Larry

I bought the tab for this song from Scotty many years ago and learned it note for note. Just wish I could buy Tom’s talent because I sure can’t make it sound like he does!

Tom did an album called "Tom Cattin" and he tabbed out the whole album in a book. I did a google and it appears to still be available.

You can contact Rolene Brumley. I purchased the Tom Cattin' Tab book and backing tracks directly from her. She was very gracious and I might add, timely with my purchase, which was no problem to her at all. She seems to sincerely like that people are interested in Tom's stuff.

Fantastic tone and touch! What a great player.
I coped SO much stuff from Tom when I first started playing. This reminds me it's time to go back and re-listen.

i've deemed myself a failure and wondered why i even go on when listening to emmons, white and franklin and all who follow, get those incredible big chords and complicated licks and sophistocated (sp?) jazz interpretations, etc.
but then i come back to earth hearing tom play somewhat simply, but with incredible tone and feeling and i try to convince myself that there is room for many different levels and styles of players....so maybe there's still hope!

Beautifully played and executed. One of the all-time greats. I'd love to get this tab too!

Check with Tom Bradshaw -- he had a Tom Brumbly Tab book & Tape with this song on it -- Maybe he still has it -

Toms playing

Post by Steve Spitz »

Chris, you said it. Toms touch and tone is to die for. I'll never play really flashy , but if I could play it like Tom, that's as good as it gets for me. His tone on " close up the honky tonks" allways knocked me out. His solo on Dwight's "heart that you own" is another.
Decades apart, both killer.
