upgrade from 2007 to newer

How new can I upgrade if I'm currently using 2007? Just wondering if I can go to 2012 or not using 2007 as the base program.

When you install an "upgrade" it actually installs a new version, not modify and "upgrade" the old version.

Depending on your version will depend on how much the new version costs.
