As you all know, Leon McAuliffe wrote and recorded Steel Guitar Rag. Leon was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1978. Always smiling, he certainly ranks among the best steel guitar players and showmen of the past. I have selected videos made at different times and ages during his career. I am amazed at how he could play in earlier years without even looking at his guitar for periods of time. Your thoughts and comments will be appreciated.

Great stuff C.E. & thanks for posting them.

There seems to be some conjecture as to who actually wrote SGR (see vid 3) coincidence possibly?
But a top tune whoever wrote it!

Another one who can get away with not looking at the fretboard is the great Joe Wright.
I guess it's related to just how much one practises & plays?
Personally, I'm lost if I take my eyes off the neck for more than half a second.
