Lap Steel Speedpicking - C6

Post by Doug Beaumier »

This is a speedpicking - pick blocking solo/exercise for 6-string lap steel I posted here about four years ago. The original link to the Tablature pdf has been changed so I thought I'd re-post it here with the new link. Thanks to David J. Stewart for posting this on his excellent and very extensive lap steel web site. Someday I'll get around to posting it on my site too. 8)

A good winter project. 6-string tab, but it will work on the middle-6 or the upper-6 of most 8-string C6 tunings. Happy New Year!

Thanks Stan! I appreciate it. The speedpicking demo was played on a 1950 Gibson 6-string lap steel. I played Bouquet of Roses on a 1952 Fender D-8 with trapezoid pickups. I'm a big fan of vintage tone! My pedal steels are Emmons push/pulls, 1966 and 1975. Cheers and Happy New Year.
