Maurice Anderson......

This cut on Jim and Maurice's Jazz CD, is Great song, it shows you can play a tune with just single note, but listen to his cords behind Jim guitar solo.. Maurice's Soul really shines on this tune..and his cord work, well, no one can match it....hope you enjoy...

Maurice - always the consummate musician. Never ever bluffed a chord in his life. One of the greatest players ever to play the instrument.

This clip of Maurice and Teresa always staggers me that he uses massive arpeggio chords from a non pedal steel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rQaxFy28Jo His musical knowledge seemed boundless. What a huge loss as a player and friend to all. I miss him greatly.

David
We were friends for 40 or so years, and he always had concerns about others, When my wife was ill, Maurice quickly sent an email offering support and comfort. He always considered others. My best friend had a stroke, which was permanently debilitating and meant he would never play steel or 6 string guitar ever again. Maurice sent him a very personal note which lifted his spirits no end.

The Dallas Steel Show in March 2014 will not be the same without his presence, and I still have the memory of his barnstorming set at last year's TSGA Jamboree when he tore the place apart. A gargantuan player and a giant among men.
