Ronee Blakley "Tapedeck in His Tractor" Lesson

Post by John Shadid »

Lloyd Green and Weldon Myrick are both credited on the album. This is the intro and fills to Ronee Blakley's "Tapedeck in His Tractor" from the 1975 film 'Nashville' movie soundtrack. An all time favorite of mine!

Thanks John, this will keep me busy practicing for a some time.
It helps me to listen to the original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHvhEfD5zxc to figure out where I am, because it's so terribly fast. You did a great job!

Thank you sir! That's a good video for his hand positioning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li_A79h-9t8 <-- this one has better audio though. I really would love an old pro to figure out which steel player it was. The first time I heard it as a pedal steel player, without looking at the album jacket I said, "That's Lloyd Green." But then as I kept listening, after seeing both Lloyd and Weldon are credited, I wasn't so sure anymore. :?
Here is a picture from the movie.

Based on what I see and hear on these clips, it is Stu Basore playing that tune IMO.
