Anniversary of Edmund Fitzgerald...video clip

Post by Peewee Charles »

Today, Nov 10th. Marks the 38th Anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald....I remember going in to the studio cutting the song with Gord so many years ago....it was a magical moment captured in the first take....Terry Clements and myself came up with the haunting Steel and Guitar parts.....it went on to be a Grammy nominated...biggest hit for Gord...a tribute to the families of the 29 that lost there lives that day....Here's a live clip we did from Soundstage in Chicago.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0DqPSF2fyo&autoplay=1

I said it before, not a wasted line in the whole song. A masterpiece and the music was just perfect. Still gives me goosebumps.

I remember finding out it was a Maestro Phase Shifter used for that haunting effect and went to get one as quick as I could !! Used it for years after that recording made it a must have ! And as Clyde said...it is still an echo from the past and lives on today in my mind !!
