hall of fame country music d j , romeo sullivan, has lost his battle with cancer in hattisburg, mississippi.
romeo as a band leader has worked many a steel guitarist over his long career.
he will be buried wednesday, with a viewing, tuesday night in hattisburg.
romeo was also known as the only dj that kept his signal up throughout hurricane camille on the gulf coast, defying orders from government authorities to abandon his microphone and leave the area before the storm hit.

He will be missed greatly. Romeo was also a member of The Disc jockey Hall of Fame and really played and supported our real country music.

Sure hated to hear this news, I played steel for him and his band for quite a few years, back in the 70-80. he knew all the songs being played then, since he was playing them everyday on the radio. He was a Musician, HoF D J, Singer, Bass player. and always had a joke or some funny saying every time he seen you. He sure is gonna be missed. Rest in Peace,
