ZiggyTV Stopped Dowloading
For over a year now I've been using the Basic, free version of ZiggyTV to download videos from YouTube, and I've come to rely on it. In fact I've downloaded so many shows and documentaries with it that I no longer watch live TV.
But a few days ago it stopped downloading. I've reinstalled it several times but it still won't download. Has anyone else had this problem? Have they changed the policy on dowloading so that you can only download with the paid-for Pro version?
Do any of you use the Pro version, and if so, what are its advantages? (It costs $35)
Does anyone know of an alternative YouTube downloader in the public domain which doesn't fill your computer with advertising connections?

I have been using SMPlayer. It plays all audio and video formats and include SMTube which can search and download from youtube. It works well and it's free. http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/

YouTube, owned by Google, regularly changes things to shake off freebie downloaders not authorized by Google.Alan Brookes wrote:Thanks Bill, I'll try SMPlayer.
John, do you think that changes in YouTube, rather than in ZiggyTV, have caused ZiggyTV to stop working?

Perhaps this will help...Alan Brookes wrote:I guess I'm a freebee downloader.
How can I find out which downloaders are authorized by Google ?

Thanks a lot, Bill. I downloaded SMPlayer via your link and I've been using SMTube ever since to download from YouTube. It works even better than ZiggyTV; a lot faster and so far it hasn't yet thrown me out, although I've downloaded as many as 18 videos simultaneously.Bill Moore wrote:I have been using SMPlayer.
