Vassendgutane.. Country music from Norway

Post by Bob Carlucci »

I like these guys.. Great sound, great energy, and they put their fine steel man on a damn riser.. can you imagine??... Our euro brothers are given a place of honor on stage, and here in the states we're stuck behind the lead players fat ass....or worse...

Lots of good stuff on YT from these guys, and they make damn sure the steel is an integral part of the sound, and NOT an afterthought.. The Euros are making some good music, and the steel is still big in country bands there from what I have seen.
Nice little E9 solo in this one, and the guy grabs his "Franklin Pull" real quick .. Looks like pedal 4 where I keep my F# lower.. My b full tone lower is pedal 5.. Its weird but works for me...
Its real quick, but really caught my eye and ear.. These guys are worth a listen!...

I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

no gear list for me.. you don't have the time......

I would love to be in the audience enjoying the music and ambience. I think that those folks are just great. I wonder if our love for this music is in our dna? Remember the Vikings visiting England, I think?

Lars Egil VÃ¥gseter resigned from Vassendgutane a year or so ago. Now he does lots of freelancing with different groups and solo acts. As well he gets his fair share of studio work.
His instrumental Cd, called Sweet steel can be bought at ITunes
Here is a sample of his fine playing, recorded live in a church in Norway
