Been Thinking of Our Friend, Red Kilby Today

Post by Tiny Olson »

I've been remembering my friend Red Kilby quite a bit today. He was my friend and a friend to many of us in the steel guitar world. Hard to imagine it's been two years now since he left us. I still miss him and think of him often. May The Lord keep our buddy, Red eternally in His embrace.

Sincerely,
Chris "Tiny" Olson

Tiny, I agree... I haven't brought myself to take his email or phone number from my records. He's still here among us in many ways.

I think of Red often. He was so full of life, and seemed to savor everything and everybody around him. I know he touched those who were fortunate enough to know him. He certainly touched us!

It is still hard to imagine being at a steel show and not seeing Red and his friendly smile. He was so full of positive energy!

RIP, my friend!

Red and I were Facebook friends, and I think one time when we talked, he said to me, "I'd love to hear you play". He also knew how much I love Jackson Steels-we talked right before I'd gotten my Jackson Steel.

Hey Chubby, miss you too buddy. Always enjoyed visiting with you and hearing you play when we did shows together. I'll try to contact you one of these days soon at the radio show.

I, like others have said still have Red's phone #s saved on my phone to this day. Just can't take them off there it seems...
