Jimmie Crawford - "Amazing Tallent" LIVE

Post by Bill Ferguson »

Many of the current young (and older) steel players never got a chance to really hear what Jimmie Crawford could take from his mind to his fingers. This video will show you some of the imagination that Jimmie had.

This is the boogie (I don't know the name) he wrote plus Old Joe Clark as only Jimmie could play it.

Enjoy and let me know if you are STARVING for more of the greats!

Bill

Great stuff and thanks for posting it!

Brings back a lot of memories. I used to back Jimmie up with a band called "United Steels of Europe" in the late 1980's (I don't recall the exact year anymore) over here in Europe. I mostly played keyboards at that time.

What a great picker and fun personality to tour with this guy was! Thanks for the wonderful time we had together and may you rest in peace, Jimmie!

A few years ago Buddy Emmons named his 10 favorite pedal and non-pedal players in a thread here on the Forum. Jimmie was on that list along with Lloyd, Curly, Mooney, Sneaky Pete, and others I can't remember at the moment. Listen to Jimmie and hear why......

Scintillating playing from Jimmy (as ever). What a loss he was, such a unique and individual player.

Hmm, something has happened to the sound. I can't hear it anymore either.
I will either figure a way to fix it or I will remove this video and put up a new upload.

OK, for some reason when I clicked on the YOUTUBE volume control, it was turned down.

Try it again now and if you can't hear anything, slide the volume bar under the video to UP all the way.

Jimmie's sound was so unique. Was this played on C6th or E9th?
