This is my latest project. I learn best by getting myself involved in a project that's over my head. I'm making my own arrangement of this song for pedal steel. I just started and here's what I have so far:

I'd like to hear what y'all have to say. If you know of another arrangement of this song, I don't want to hear about it! I want the challenge of doing this without working off of someone else's steel arrangement.
My goal is to have the whole song arranged by Christmas-time. I want to make it sound fuller and with more interesting string/fret choices than what you see in the video. Ultimately, I'd like it to be so beautiful that it makes my mom cry.
The two biggest improvements in my technique that I'd like to see are cleaner palm blocking and the incorporation of the volume pedal into my playing. Doing this is making me wish that I had 2 or more strings on the bottom. It seems like you really need those bass notes to make a solo steel piece sound full without it sounding busy.
