This city will be a much less entertaining place without Jack here... Glad I got to cross paths with him now and then, at his studio and backing him up a few times.

What a great, one-of-a-kind character he was, and he played some steel too; if you can get hold of a copy of this DVD it's a lot of fun (there's more of Johnny Cash than Clement in this clip, but there's links to other Jack stuff on the same page and he's great in the movie).

One of my true heroes...musical genius, philosopher extraordinaire...here are a couple of my favorite Cowboy Jack quotes....

Whatever may be wrong with the world, at least it has some good things to eat - Cowboy Jack

Even an air conditioner has to warm up before it can be cool - Cowboy Jack Clement

He lies a lot, but at least he's honest about it - Cowboy Jack

Here are my three universal truths: Number One, All people from Memphis speak in parables. Number Two, Women don't like steel guitars. Number Three, If you throw enough shit against the wall, somebody will see a picture in it - Cowboy Jack Clement

Gonna miss you...

I just read this today and it saddens me deeply. I met Jack a few years ago and he was such a nice and friendly person. Will miss you Jack!
